Which you would think is an easy thing to do—we used to do it so well as children…remember? So why does it seem so elusive?

We seem to be stuck in a pattern like a recursive loop for those geeks like me out there! A pattern of suffering, frustration and drama—like a comfortable “binkie” blanket that we won’t let go of! It’s no wonder we can’t access joy when we operate like this!!!

What is really interesting is that our friends/family—others can see what our pattern is but usually they are too nice to let us know or we are too stubborn to listen! If we could only read our own instructions on the outside of our box that we live in… then we could perhaps do something different? Like a booger in your nose--everyone else can see it but you and if others would just tell you it was there, you would remove it!!!

But would we, if we really knew what our destructive patterns were? Remember that blanket is sure soft are warm!?!? I will take the stand that if you did know you had a "booger in your nose"--if you knew what those patterns were, you would choose to do something different or at least realize what you were doing and choose it powerfully anyways!

So how would you go about recognizing those pesky patterns? Take out 4 sheets of paper and write at the top of each sheet the name of each person with whom you were in a relationship with…from 2 week-ers up to multiple year-ers! Start with the last relationship you had then go back in time from there. For each relationship, answer these questions:

1) How did it start?
2) How did it go?
3) How did it end?
4) What part did you play in the story of that relationship?
5) What part did they play in the story of that relationship?

Look to see if there is a pattern emerging…even ask a friend to see if they noticed any patterns in your last few relationships?

Are you always the victim and they are always the jerk/bitch? Are they sweet as sugar and you think “oh my this is too go to be true—I’m outta here!” and run scared without even as much as a goodbye-nice-knowing-ya? What is you M.O.??

Once you recognize what your M.O. is, now you can choose what you will do next time—consciously instead of unconsciously—or automatic! You get to be in control of you instead of the auto-pilot mechanism that engages every time like a chain reaction!

Look for more in my next entry on what you can do different and have a different result—even the results you want!!!

What is your Product’s Packaging Projecting?

March 2007

Whether you realize it or not, YOU are really the Product you are trying to sell not the item or service you are actually selling! First thing people see when they meet you for the first time is the Packaging of Your Product! And they form an opinion about that packaging whether we like it or not—we do it all they time no matter how enlightened we try and make ourselves! We notice people’s teeth, body language and clothes and we instantaneously make quick calls about people—they are confident, they have poor hygiene or they are rich—just by looking at their packaging!

So just how is the Packaging of the Product of You? Does it project what you want your Customers to see or does it confuse them? If you are a lawyer and wear T-shirts and jeans all the time or outdated suits, customers aren’t likely to take you seriously at first contact and may have to be convinced otherwise to remove that first initial impression! As you can see the Packaging of a Product is very Important!

So to effectively sell the Product of You, you must make sure the packaging is consistent with what you would like to Project to the customer! So the first action item is to really look at what DO you want to Project to your customers? Who are you, what would make you memorable and unique and want customers to buy from you? What would make you stand out in a crowd of other lawyers, real estate agents or interviewees for a job?

Think about this and list out the wonderful attributes of you! Ask your co-workers or friends to help you with this list, you might be touched what great things they tell you about you or/and you might be surprised by some things you didn’t realize you didn’t intend to project! All of it is great feedback! Circle the ones that you like and from the circled items, pick 3 attributes that really call to you as to who You are and what you want your customers to know about you! We will call this Your Brand. Some examples: a Witty, Driven, Lawyer or a Savy, Creative, Software Developer.

Now look at that Brand and see what there is to do to make your Packaging or Image consistent with your Brand? Perhaps a new hair style is in order, or updated suits or shoes…maybe even new business cards, a new car or new voice message on your answering machine? If you just have no idea about what there is to do, outside input could be what you need to move you into action! Ask an Image savy friend or hire an impartial Image Consultant/Coach who will not be afraid to tell it like it is and get you to where you really want to be…which is People Purchasing the Product of YOU!

Happy Packaging and Projecting!

Get what you want for Valentine’s Day—A Date!

February 2007

It is that time again, New Year’s resolutions, looking back at the last year and seeing what we did and did not accomplish and looking at what we want to create this new year. If one of your New Year’s resolutions is to be dating and even have a date by Valentines Day, then one thing you might want to do, is do something different if what you have been doing hasn’t been working? Here are 10 something different activities that work if you are willing to leave significance at home and add play and possibility--I call them the Attraction Action Plan:

1. Release your cynicism and resignation that you can’t have what you want! Really get that you are the one that creates how your world goes so give up those old ways of being and realize that anything is possible.

2. Write out and I do mean write it out not just think it, what you want your Valentine’ Day to look like! Describe in a visual manner what happens that day and make sure you write it in past tense like it has already happened!

For example: He called at 2pm to confirm our date and told me he can’t wait to see me. I told him the babysitter was set up and he told me he was happy to pay for her and had a surprise for me tonite! After I got home, I immediately got ready and everything went smoothly getting ready! My daughter gave me a big hug and kiss and a Valentine’s day card that she made which I will keep forever. She then happily ran out to play with the neighborhood kids. The babysitter arrived on time and my daughter was happy to see her again. He rang the doorbell and greeted me with a dozen red roses, box of Godiva chocolates and the most wonderful Valentine’s Day Card I have ever received! My heart was melting from the generosity and adoration he displayed. He walked me to the limousine and the driver opened the door where champagne, chocolate covered strawberries and great music were waiting. We cozy up to each other and kissed the entire time on the way to the restaurant—it didn’t even seem like we had been kissing that long—time stood still. He had made reservations at my favorite restaurant and we went all out that night with the food: appetizers, salad, main course, dessert, wine and drinks! We sat close to each other and held hands when we weren’t eating and gave each other smooches from time to time! Our conversations were fun, playful and full of deep intriguing topics that made us feel like we had just transformed the world! After dinner we hopped into our limo where cosmos where were waiting for our next trip to one of my favorite dance clubs. We walked hand in hand and arm in arm all night and we felt like teenagers that couldn’t keep our hands off each other! He is an amazing dancer and we had so much fun dancing to just about every song! He had reserved a “couch” for us to retreat to between dancing breaks. We both felt so comfortable just being quiet and looking into each other’s eyes! At closing time we moved back into the limo and made-out in the limo on the way home. He knew just how to touch me to make me tingle and shudder. At my house, he walks me to the door and holds me tight before giving me an amazing kiss good nite. He told me he had a wonderful night and thanked me for it. He wanted to know when he could see me next and we set up the next date. I felt like a queen and was high from the great evening of adoration!

3. Visualize every day you having this date. Pick a time to do this visualization. Believe you can have it, feel the feelings of having it. Remember that your thoughts and feelings are very powerful so start thinking of the things you want to have in your life!

4. Just who is this fabulous person you will be going out on a date with? Write it all out. Don’t just list their physical stats, write out how they behave, what their personality is like, how they relate to you, what are they like socially and spiritually. What does the person do when you succeed or when you fail? How do they handle money, affection and child rearing?

5. Again visualize every day this person who you will share your life with.

6. Be grateful for what you already have and choose your life like it is now! Stop resisting how your life turned out—like it “should” have turned out another way—give that up, really look at what a great life you have! List out everything in your life that you are grateful for. Read this list daily.

7. Turn yourself ‘On’. Stand up straight, head up high and just start laughing. Keep a pleasant, happy face on and be approachable! What Vibe do you want to project! What do you want others to first notice about you? Be that—turn it on! I call it your ‘Mojo Vibe’ for short (Mojo means Personal Magnetism).

8. Everyday make eye contact, smile and give a happy “Hi” with at least 5 men and 5 women. Whether you are at the grocery or just walking down the hall at work, really play the game of giving those people a part of you that day!

9. Take chances with people that want to engage with you and vice versa! Make that second look, say hi back, linger close by to give them a chance to engage with you, walk by them again, or ask them a question. Remember to always give them your eyes! ?

10. If you don’t get the response you want from someone, just remember ‘Next’! There really are plenty of fish in the sea! Think abundance, abundance, abundance!

It really is as easy as this. Try it out exactly as detailed here for the next 30 days and let me know what happens! I expect to hear amazing stories so please send them to this email address:

janet@mojo-maker.com.

Happy Attracting!

Another Tongue Down My Throat

November 2006

So just 30 minutes ago, it happened again, another man proceeded to thrust his tongue down my throat at the beginning of a 1st kiss good night! This guy had just run the New York Marathon and was from Italy so maybe you could say it was a foreign thing but it also happened with a good ole Texan, in Austin just two weeks before! Wass up Guys? Maybe somehow they think this is one way of showing us their manhood? Maybe they were never taught the fine etiquette of kissing—mama never taught them!? Or maybe they just haven’t been properly slapped!?!

Well as a Kissing and Connection Coach—I can tell you that this just isn’t the way to melt a woman! Lips, lips, lips!!! And more Lips! Pressing oh so gently yet firmly against hers. Between these two tongue-men , I was kissed by the best kisser I have ever kissed--he was a master on the use of lips! Probably also didn’t hurt that he was a Scorpio—the most passionate lovers in the zodiac, that is if you believe that sort of thing?! He used his tongue as an extension of his lips, moving like the ocean tide, in and out, in and out, in and out…..oops sorry it has been awhile since I had good sex…of my mouth--having me not only melt but willing to obey his every command!

And alas, I will truly miss him! Not to worry, there are so many more frogs to kiss girls, so get out there and start slapping those that slip you the tongue and start adoring the princes that give you the lip service you deserve!!!
